On Trust.

SHARED THOUGHTS…01.02.13.

Trust Or Innocence

This guy had been on a long flight. The first warning of the approaching problems came when the sign on the airplane flashed on: "Fasten your seat belts."  Then, after a while, a calm voice said, "We shall not be serving the beverages at this time as we are expecting a little turbulence. Please be sure your seat belt is fastened."

As he looked around the aircraft, it became obvious that many of the passengers were becoming apprehensive.. Later, the voice of the announcer said, "We are so sorry that we are unable to serve the meal at this time. The turbulence is still ahead of us."

And then the storm broke. The ominous cracks of thunder could be heard even above the roar of the engines. Lightening lit up the darkening skies and within moments that great plane was like a cork tossed around on a celestial ocean. One moment the airplane was lifted on terrific currents of air; the next, it dropped as if it were about to crash.

The man confessed that he shared the discomfort and fear of those around him. He said, "As I looked around the plane, I could see that nearly all the passengers were upset and alarmed. Some were praying.

The future seemed ominous and many were wondering if they would make it through the storm. And then, I suddenly saw a girl to whom the storm meant nothing. She had tucked her feet beneath her as she sat on her seat and was reading a book. Everything within her small world was calm and orderly. Sometimes she closed her eyes, then she would read again; then she would straighten her legs, but worry and fear were not in her world.

When the plane was being buffeted by the terrible storm, when it lurched this way and that, as it rose and fell with frightening severity, when all the adults were scared half to death, that marvellous child was completely composed and unafraid."

The man could hardly believe his eyes. It was not surprising therefore, that when the plane finally reached its destination and all the passengers were hurrying to disembark, he lingered to speak to the girl whom he had watched for such a long time.
Having commented about the storm and behaviour of the plane, he asked why she had not been afraid.

The sweet child replied, "Sir, my Dad is the pilot and he is taking me home."

Trust ? Innocence? Whatever it is, it is so very powerful!

This is more to do with TRUST, FAITH, CONFIDENCE, HOPE… than innocence.
When somebody ‘trusts’ you, it is Thrusting Responsibility Upon Self at all Times.

It is a pleasure to live up to another person’s Trust.

“The only way to make a man trustworthy is to trust him.“ Henry Lewis Stimson           U.S. Politician

Whether in social life, family life or in business, trust is the  most essential ingredient that cements relationships and ensure happy co-existence. Relationships of trust depend on our willingness to look not only to our own interests, but also the interests of others.

Once, all villagers decided to pray for RAIN, on the day of prayer all people gathered and only one boy came with an umbrella   ( THAT'S FAITH ).

The feeling of a baby. when you throw him in the air, he laughs because he knows you will catch him ( THAT'S TRUST ).

Every night we go to bed without any of the assurance of being alive the next morning but still we set the alarm to wake up (THAT'S HOPE ).

We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of no knowledge of future and its uncertainties       ( THAT'S CONFIDENCE ).

Being Smart And Observant.

Chuan and Jing joined a wholesale company together just after graduation. Both worked very hard.

After several years, the boss promoted Jing to sales executive but Chuan remained a sales rep. One day Chuan could not take it anymore, tendered his resignation to the boss and complained the boss did not value hard working staff, but only promoted those who flattered him.

The boss knew that Chuan worked very hard for years, but in order to help Chuan realize the difference between him and Jing, the boss asked Chuan to do the following.

Go and find out anyone selling water melon in the market.

Chuan returned and said yes. The boss asked how much was the cost per kg.  Chuan went back to the market to ask and returned to inform boss the price was $12 per kg.

Boss told Chuan, I will ask Jing the same question. Jing went, returned and said, boss, only one person selling water melon. $12 per kg, $100 for 10 kg, he has inventory of 340 melons. On the table 58 melons, every melon weighs about 15 kg, bought from the South two days ago, they are fresh and red, good quality.

Chuan was very impressed and realized the difference between himself and Jing. He decided not to resign but to learn from Jing.
In life, career, business… a successful person is more observant, thinks more and understands in depth. For the same matter, a more successful person sees several years ahead, while the ordinary person sees only tomorrow.
The difference between a year and a day is 365 times.

Think!  how far have you seen ahead in your Life. How thoughtful in depth are you?
