SHARED THOUGHTS… 11.09.2014.

The savage blows on the mighty twin towers of New York and elsewhere, this
day, thirteen years ago, has changed the way the world view, in many ways.
That day, for several people in New York City, some of the "little things"
happened in their lives, that made 'huge' difference - between life and
death.
Read on for those "little things"....thanks to Joe.

........little things............
After Sept. 11th, one company invited the remaining members of other
companies who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share
their available
office space.
At a morning meeting, the head of security told stories of why these people
were alive... and all the stories were just:
the 'L I T T L E' things.
As you might know, the head of the company survived that day because his son
started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto
accident.
One of them missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One's car wouldn't start.
One went back to answer the telephone.
One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.
One couldn't get a taxi.
The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that
morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he
developed a blister on his foot.
He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today.
Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a
ringing telephone.....all the little things that annoy me.

I think to myself ……………………..
this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment..
Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow
getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic
light, don't
get mad or frustrated.
God is at work watching over you. May God continue to bless you with all
those annoying little things and may you remember their possible purpose.

Planning & Strategy… of a different kind.
We in business hold regular meetings to chalk out short term & medium term
plan of action, how to widen our market reach, improve our brand image, gain
further market share etc etc. One such meeting was held in my office few
days back. One can easily assume, that in many office spaces across the
world, there may have been similar meetings taking place.
The intention and objective in almost all these meetings are simple &
straight forward – to improve products & services that will offer people
more choices and benefits. The people present in these meetings are sharing
similar aspirations and goals to improve business and hope for more benefits
to the company and self.
My thoughts went off to a different direction…
Right at the very moment as we are holding our meeting, there must be
meetings taking place elsewhere – in the hostile expanse of Middle East &
Africa .. where members of Boko Haram, Al Shabab, ISIS, Al Nusra front, Al
Quaida, Taleban and similar outfits – are also holding their meetings – to
discuss their short term and medium term plan of action – how many people to
kill, where to kill them, who will go on to do this carnage, are the weapons
enough to inflict maximum casualty, when to kill the hostages, where to
plant bombs, how to enlarge process of recruitment of suicide bombers, which
suicide bombers to be placed where and when…there will be suggestions and
ideas from those present.
Just imagine, all these people share similar aspirations, goals and
objectives.. to KILL.. they also believe there is a CAUSE for them to do
what they are doing.
What makes these people take this course by choice? How can such large
segments of population in vastly different locations, across continents &
oceans…and different culture, get brain washed to share a belief to bring
about death & destruction?. What is the underlying basis of an ideology
that satisfies the sadistic and latent animal nature in human beings?
Every aspect in their life – childhood, schooling, teachers, culture &
language being so very different, we can trace only one common bond among
this diversity – religion and the religious preaching & study.
Every newspaper world over gives every day, news of death & destruction in
parts of the world where by a vast majority, the common factor is the
religion whose teachings are so grossly misunderstood or misinterpreted that
the very name of that religion instills various impressions that are not
true. . of that religion.
Then why is this happening??
This is the question that should be asked by the fair minded among this
religion – scholars, teachers, preachers, every parent, every practitioner –
each of this segment has a duty to speak out against the misguided and
violent minority who are hijacking this religion that is known to be of
love, peace and justice.
They have a duty to bringing up the next generation within the realms of
moderation and tolerance and eschew the path followed by the misguided
elements as a result of instigation and enticement by vested interests.
